"Lost Poetry of Los Angeles"
by Bryan Mahoney
These poems were left behind.
For over a decade, Los Angeles-based street poet Bryan Mahoney has written rhyming stories for strangers. With just a typewriter and his imagination, he spins personal poems about fantastical adventures, family histories, and even a couple obituaries. On some occasions, though, people don’t come back for the poems. Those little sheets of history are here in the hopes they might find their rightful owners.
"Conjure Seven" by Erik Day
Three years ago, the world discovered magic.
Treated more as a science, little changes have trickled into everyday life, but the real promise seems to be a few years away. Engineer Samuel “Rick” Rickard has discovered a new way to make arcane crystals; the power supply for most of those magical things. In the right hands they would be a source of unlimited, clean energy. In the wrong hands, they would be unstoppable weapons of mass destruction. Rick's crystals spark a tragic accident and the ensuing chaos covers the tracks of Aka'weyo, an arcane assassin. With both the FBI and this sociopathic wizard hunting him, Rick must protect Ben, his nephew and the only family he has left.

Thrown into a world of magic, intrigue and murder, Julia finds herself hunted by Azor Torr, a tyrant king bent on destroying everything to get to her. But she also finds new friends, family, allies—and most unexpectedly, love.
